Driving Force (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.driving-force.co.za, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Who we are
Driving Force is a motor dealership at 21 Montague Drive, Montague Gardens, Cape Town. We are the “responsible party” for personal information collected on this website. Requests about your information can be sent to our Information Officer at info@drivingforce.biz.
Information we collect
When you browse. We count visits anonymously so we can see which pages and vehicles are popular and where visitors come from (for example a search engine or social media). We record the page, the vehicle viewed or clicked, the type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop), the country derived from your connection, and the referring website. We do not store your IP address, name or any cookie. To count unique visits, your connection details are turned into a one-way code that changes every day, so you cannot be identified or followed from one day to the next. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, we do not count your visit at all.
When you enquire. If you use the email enquiry form we receive your name, email address, optional phone number, message and the vehicle you asked about. If you choose WhatsApp, phone or email, the conversation happens in that app or service and we receive the details you send us.
When you apply for finance. The application asks for your contact and identity details, addresses, employment, banking information, income, expenses, declarations and any supporting documents you choose to attach. Only provide information and documents you are authorised to share.
Finance estimates. The payment calculators run in your browser and are not sent to us. An estimate is illustrative, excludes fees and insurance, and is not an offer or approval of credit.
Why we use your information
We use personal information to respond to your enquiry, arrange viewings and test drives, assess and process your finance request with the credit checks you authorise, complete a sale and comply with our legal obligations. We use anonymous visit counts to improve the website and understand which vehicles interest people. We only send you marketing if you agree to it, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed:
- Finance providers — banks and finance houses we submit your application to, who may perform the credit checks you authorise.
- VMG Software — delivers finance applications to us (the service behind the EazyFin application).
- Resend — delivers email enquiries from this website to our inbox.
- Vercel — hosts this website and processes the requests needed to show it.
- Supabase — stores enquiries sent through the website form so our sales team can follow them up, our anonymous visit statistics and our staff logins.
- WhatsApp, Google Maps and Facebook — only if you choose to follow a link to them; their own privacy policies then apply.
- Authorities — where the law requires us to.
Information sent outside South Africa
Some of these service providers store or process information outside South Africa, for example in the European Union or the United States. We use providers that are bound by data-protection laws or agreements that give a level of protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and finance information only for as long as needed to deal with your request and to meet legal, tax and contractual record-keeping requirements. Enquiries sent through the website form are kept in our staff dashboard for two years and then deleted. Anonymous visit statistics are deleted after about 13 months. Unsubmitted finance application details stay on your page and are cleared when you close or refresh it.
Cookies and storage
This website does not use cookies or store anything in your browser for advertising or tracking.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restrict access to staff who need it, and require each staff member to sign in with their own account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask whether we hold your personal information and request a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its use, and withdraw consent you have given (for example to marketing). Contact info@drivingforce.biz; we may need to confirm your identity first. Some records must be kept for legal or contractual reasons. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. See also our Terms of use.
